In a historic moment, the dream of an Indian man, nurtured for two years, culminated in the establishment of the first Indian temple in Mexico. This monumental achievement marked a significant milestone in the cultural and spiritual landscape of the country, bridging the vast geographical distance between India and Mexico with a shared reverence for divine worship.
The temple, a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and cultural exchange, was started in Queretaro a vibrant city that has witnessed the influx of Indian immigrants over the years. Indian community poured their hearts and souls into its creation.
The Indian Embassy, led by His Excellency Mr. Pankaj Sharma, played a pivotal role in supporting the success of this initiative and reflects their vision for a spiritual and cultural hub.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony was synchronized with a parallel event in Ayodhya, India, symbolizing unity in the Indian diaspora.
Dr. Abhinaw Raaj’s (Director of ICCR) unwavering efforts played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this significant cultural milestone for the Indian community abroad. Upon being approached for guidance on the steps to initiate the process, Dr. Abhinaw worked tirelessly for 72 continuous hours. He coordinated with multiple vendors across India, ensuring that the most appropriate idol for the occasion was selected and shipped. His commitment and dedication ensured that the deities reached Mexico on time, aligning perfectly with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony that took place simultaneously with the event in Ayodhya (Bharat).
Indian and Mexican communities celebrated together, showcasing shared values of family, faith, and tradition.
The temple is a beacon for the Indian diaspora in Mexico, fostering greater ties with the host country.
This initiative strengthened India’s image abroad, showcasing its rich heritage and spiritual values. The collaboration highlighted India's commitment to its diaspora, providing cultural and spiritual support.

This initiative was also for promoting the knowledge of Vedas, Puranas, and Itihasas along with the values of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world as one family) will help instill a deep sense of cultural heritage and universal harmony in the next generation.
The temple has become a space for Indian festivals like Ram Navami, Krishna Janmashtami, and Dussehra, bringing the Indian diaspora together to perform Pooja’s, kirtan, perform cultural activities and have delicious maha prasadam.
